UnCategorized Parvin Dabas was born on 12 July 1974 into a Jat family in Delhi. He studied in Modern School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. Later he .pleted his studies from Hans Raj College, Delhi University. He immigrated to New York City temporarily and enrolled himself in rigorous dramatic training. Parvin Dabas made his debut in the film industry with the film DILLAGI (1999). Though he had a small role in the film, it gave him recognition. He was also seen in Jay Prakashs film TAPISH (2000). He was launched in the film MONSOON WEDDING (2001). The film starred Naseeruddin Shah, Lillete Dubey, Shefali Shetty, Vijay Raaz, Tillotama Shome, Vasundhara Das, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Kamini Khanna, Rajat Kapoor, Neha Dubey, Kemaya Kidwai, Ishaan Nair and Randeep Hooda. It was directed by Mira Nair and did very good business at the Box Office. Along with Bollywood films, Parvin Dabas has also done few English films. He made his debut in this industry with the film The Memsahib (2006). He played the role of Jayant Rathod/Vijay in this film. It starred Emily Hamilton, Glenn Fitzgerald, Sweta Keswani, Murli Sharma, Sujata Kumar and Denzil Smith. The film was directed by Kruti Majmudar and did average business at the Box Office. In The World Unseen (2007), Parvin played the role of Omar. The film starred Lisa Ray, Sheetal Sheth, Nandana Sen, David Dennis, Grethe Fox, Colin Moss, Natalie Becker and Rajesh Gopie. It was directed by Rajiv Maikhuri and did average business at the Box Office. Parvin Dabas has acted in a television serial Sarabhai vs Sarabhai (2005). He played a small role of Sudhanshu and was seen in three episodes only. The unique thing about this character was his ability to remove his shirt for the silliest of reasons. The show features actors Satish Shah, Ratna Pathak, Sumeet Raghvan, Roopali Ganguli, Rajesh Kumar and Deven Bhojani. He was also seen in a Television film The Curse of King Tuts Tomb (2006). Parvin Dabas will be seen in two films in the year 2010. In Sahi Dhandhe Galat Bande (2010), he plays the role of Rajbir. It stars Anupam Kher, Sharat Saxena, Yashpal Sharma, Kiran Juneja, Tena Desae, Vansh Bhardwaj, Neena Kulkarni, Kuldeep Ruhil and Ashish Nayyar. The film is directed by Parvin himself and is in the post production stage. Another film which will star Parvin is Alibaug (2010). It stars Diya Mirza, Samir Soni, Neha, Sanjay Suri, Rohit Roy, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sophiya Chaudhary, Masumeh Makhija and Manasi Joshi Roy. It is directed by Sanjay Gupta and is in the filming stage. Parvin Dabas is a renowned photographer. He is famous for his mastery in underwater photography. He has received many awards for his talent. He received The Pilsner Urquell International Photography Awards (2007), Prix de la Photographic Paris- Px3 Awards (2007) and International Photography Awards (2006).
